What Retailers Need to See From a New Brand

Prepare the business case behind your buyer conversation.

Liquid Opportunities editorial library · Adapted from the Liquid Opportunities founder library. Updated November 6, 2026.

The buyer case

Start with the shopper and the shelf. Explain who buys the product, which occasion it serves, and what makes it worth a space in the set. Compare the product with the alternatives the buyer already carries.

Commercial readiness

Bring your item specifications, case pack, suggested retail price, retailer cost, expected gross margin, shelf life, production capacity, and route to delivery. Confirm freight, payment terms, promotional funding, and any listing requirements.

Proof and execution

Show actual sales velocity where available. Separate existing results from forecasts. Explain how sampling, field support, and replenishment will help earn repeat orders.

National and regional accounts

Regional accounts can provide a focused test and learning loop. National accounts require the supply, distribution, working capital, and execution needed to support a wider rollout. Match your ask to the business you can service.

Put it into practice

Build the next step around your business.
